Understanding the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA)

A series of animated explainer films for the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.

OISC wanted a series of short animated films to explain some of its processes in a clear, informative and friendly way. It was important that the tone was positive, upbeat and approachable and that we accurately represented diverse characters from different countries.

We crafted clear jargon-free scripts alongside an illustrated character design that felt human, warm and not overly stylised. This naturalistic human-centred approach allowed for a realistic representation of people from different countries, as well as a tone of approachability, particularly by illustrated character’s faces - encouraging empathy.

The animations were shared on OISC’s gov website, YouTube and social media to a key audience of advice seekers, advisers and non-profit organisations.
