Tilly's Story

A cartoon moderne animation for children with siblings who have encephalitis for Encephalitis International

Encephalitis affects every member of the family. Siblings may have a difficult time understanding this illness and so Encephalitis International wanted to create an animation to show the impact it can have on their sibling and the whole family.

The key audience segment was 10-year old siblings of those with encephalitis.

We told the story in a cartoon moderne style from the first-person perspective of an animated child character, Tilly - for whom we cast the voice of a 10-year old voice actor. The Tilly character helped to create a sense of instant relatability and empathetic connection for the young viewer.

The film was branded in Encephalitis International sub-brand visual identity, which Faltrego had developed for the charity’s β€˜Understanding Encephalitis’ series.
